for quotes that is.
It doesn’t matter where I’ve found it, but if it means something to me or touches my life in a little way I write it down. I have on my iPhone a “notes” application and that’s what is held there. My favorite quotes and quotations.
And here are a few that are my favorite:
“Look, in my opinion the best thing you can do is find a person who loves you for exactly what you are. Good mood, bad mood, ugly, pretty, handsome, what-have-you. The right person is still going to think the sun shines out of your ass. That’s the kind of person that’s worth sticking with” Mac MacGuff in Juno
“Faith is the bird that sings when the dawn is still dark” Rabindranath Tagore
“A good friend is a connection to life – a tie to the past, a road to the future, the key to sanity in a totally insane world” Lois Wyse
“The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn the past, not to worry about the future, or not to anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly” Buddha
“You can understand the facts of life. But facts of love are much different. To love you love someone or someone loves you.. But when you both love each other you’re in love with one another. First become friends and let it go. Then get serious and get together. Just make yourself known as a person not as someone you don’t want to be known as…” author unknown
“Fairy Tales are more than true: not because they tell us dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten” G.K. Chesterton
“What is passion? It is surely the becoming of a person…In passion, the body and spirit seek expression…The more extreme and the more expressed that passion is, the more unbearable does life seem without it. It reminds us that if passion dies or is denied we are partly dead and that soon, come what may, we will be wholly so” John Boorman, film director
“I wanted to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. Its when you know you are licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see through it no matter what” Atticus Finch, from Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird
